Sadly Departed and Greatly Missed

Jack Kennedy

Our school community was seriously saddened to learn of the death of our beloved colleague, Jack Kennedy. Jack died on 15th August 2004 following a brave battle against serious illness. He was a teacher in our school for 30 years. To describe Jack isn’t easy. His pupils will always remember the nature walks they went on as well as varied sports competitions they participated in. He possessed a really quick wit and a sharp turn of phrase. On one occasion when the boys.

The school community was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dick Hayden (R.I.P.) on nn December 2011. A proud Ferrybank native, Dick was principal of the school from 1971 to 1998. A courteous, honourable man and a committed teacher, Dick is greatly missed by all of us. We extend our sympathies to his entire family circle. Go raibh sé i measc na nGael i ríocht Dé.

Our school community was devastated at the loss of our beloved secretary, Margaret Brown. Margaret lost her very brave battle with her illness in the early hours of Saturday 12th November 2016. She brought grace, dignity, glamour and fun to Ferrybank Boys’ National School. She exuded kindness and discretion in all her dealings with the boys and their parents and was a steadfast support to the principal and all the staff. She lived each day to the full and that is her legacy and challenge to all of us. We extend our deepest sympathy to Margaret’s family and friends. We miss her gentle presence. Go raibh sí i measc na nGael i ríocht Dé. Suaimhneas síoraí Mags. I ndáiríre ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.
